New York S07681 amends the public authorities law by adding a new section that prohibits any state or local authority, or subsidiary thereof, from retaining, contracting, employing, or designating a lobbyist to engage in lobbying. The bill also allows for the cancellation of pre-existing contracts that are inconsistent with this prohibition. The definitions of "lobbyist" and "lobbying" are as defined in section one-c of the legislative law.
