This bill amends the civil service law to authorize geographic pay differentials for regional state park police, forest rangers, environmental conservation officers, and university police officers. These differentials are permitted when local wage rates for police officers are substantially higher than state wages. The differentials are subject to approval by the director of the budget and are in addition to the officers' basic annual salary, without affecting other benefits.
