Allows parents of children who have received ESL services to serve on citywide councils on English language learners and high schools.
New York S06355 amends the education law to allow parents of children who have ever received services through an English as a second language program to serve on the citywide council on English language learners and the citywide council on high schools. These parents can serve even if their child is no longer enrolled in such a program. Members serve two-year terms and can continue serving after their child's enrollment ends.
