New York S06020 extends the time for businesses to correct application defects or appeal certification denials.
New York S06020 amends the executive law to require the director of the division of minority and women's business development to give businesses additional time to cure defects in their certification applications. If a certification is denied, revoked, or changed, the business has sixty days to request a hearing. An independent hearing officer conducts the hearing within twenty-one days and issues a recommendation to the director, who must respond within thirty days. The certification remains in effect during the hearing process.
