Establishes "Alzheimer's Awareness" license plates and directs funding to the Alzheimer's disease assistance fund.
This bill creates distinctive "Alzheimer's Awareness" license plates for New York residents. Owners of these plates will pay an additional annual service charge of $25, which will fund the production, design, advertising, and marketing of the plates. If at least 200 sets of these plates are sold, a surety bond is not required. Any excess funds collected beyond the $6,000 needed for the plates will be deposited into the Alzheimer's disease assistance fund. The plates will be issued upon request and payment of the regular registration fee.
