The bill establishes a public transportation expansion fund to ensure access to public transportation for publicly funded economic development projects. The fund will be jointly administered by the commissioner of economic development and the commissioner of transportation. Eligible transportation authorities can receive up to $5 million per fiscal year for establishing new transit services, improvements, equipment purchases, real property purchases, and other capital and operating expenses. The fund will consist of moneys appropriated from any other fund or source pursuant to law.
