This bill amends the not-for-profit corporation law to add a new section authorizing memorial lands facilities. These facilities are for the respectful disposition of cremated and naturally organically reduced remains. To receive a permit, the operator must be a not-for-profit corporation, subject to regulatory oversight of the cemetery board, and must file an operation plan with the department. The plan must include evidence of a perpetual conservation easement, a commitment that no crematory or columbarium will be constructed, and any plans for a natural organic reduction facility.
