Chamber Passed·5/14/25
Introduced Text

New York S04191 mandates electric vehicle charging stations in distribution centers over 50,000 sq. ft.

New York S04191 amends the energy law to require distribution centers with at least 50,000 square feet of warehouse space to install electric vehicle charging stations. The number of stations is determined by the Secretary of State in consultation with NYSERDA, based on the size and needs of the warehouse. This applies to heavy distribution centers involved in the temporary storage, sorting, and redistribution of goods for e-commerce, excluding facilities where goods are manufactured or primarily store food products.
