The advocate also makes referrals to legal assistance or social service providers when applicable. The program works in cooperation with relevant housing organizations, advocacy groups, and housing courts in the region. It conducts workshops or forums for residents at least biannually. The program is funded through appropriations and will expire two years after it becomes law.
