Prevents certain elected officials from being a member of an agency or industrial development authority.
This bill amends the general municipal law and the public authorities law to prevent certain elected officials from being a member of an agency or industrial development authority. Specifically, it prohibits members of an agency or industrial development authority from being elected officials of the municipality or any county, city, town, or village within the county in which the agency is located. The mayor may remove a member for inefficiency, neglect of duty, or misconduct in office, after providing notice and an opportunity to be heard. This act takes effect immediately.
