Prevents certain elected officials from being a member of an agency or industrial development authority.
The bill amends the general municipal law and the public authorities law to prevent elected officials from serving on certain agencies or industrial development authorities. Specifically, it prohibits members of an agency from being elected officials of the municipality or any county, city, town, or village within the county where the agency is located. This rule does not apply to elected officials required to serve on an industrial development agency or to two members of the common council of the city who can serve on the board.
