Chamber Passed·6/4/26

New York S02001 allows caregivers to be eligible for child care assistance regardless of the parent's work hours.

New York S02001 amends the social services law to allow a caregiver to be eligible for child care assistance under the child care block grant, regardless of the hours the parent actually works. This change means that child care assistance can be provided for additional or different hours than the parent or caretaker spends in work, training, educational activities, or other designated reasons for care. This act takes effect 30 days after it becomes law.
