Extends confidentiality privileges to communications between licensed mental health counselors and their clients.

This bill amends the civil practice law and rules to extend confidentiality privileges to certain communications between a licensed mental health counselor and their client during professional employment. It also extends these privileges to certain employees of the licensed mental health counselor. Exceptions include cases where the client waives the privilege, the client is a minor and has been a victim of a crime, or the communication reveals the contemplation of a crime or harmful act. The act takes effect immediately upon enactment.
