This bill amends the social services law to expand eligibility for the temporary assistance to needy families block grant program, safety net assistance, and medical assistance for certain noncitizens. It includes noncitizens admitted as Amerasian immigrants, Cuban and Haitian entrants, and those who are victims of human trafficking or serious crimes. Benefits are available for up to two years for those who have not filed for immigration relief and for the duration of pending petitions or applications for those who have. The bill takes effect immediately.
