The "no severance ultimatums act" prevents employers from giving coercive ultimatums to employees or former employees relating to severance agreements. Employers must notify employees that they have the right to consult an attorney, provide a consideration period of at least twenty-one days, allow a revocation period of seven days, and ensure the agreement is not enforceable until the revocation period expires. Severance agreements can be voided if they violate these provisions. The act takes effect immediately.
