This bill amends the executive law to increase the amount for awards made to crime victims and specifies certain items of personal property which are necessary and essential to the welfare of a claimant. Eligible essential personal property includes clothing, shoes, furniture, appliances, electronics, bedding, and other items. The office may request estimates or receipts but a claimant's inability to produce a receipt does not disqualify them from receiving reimbursement. The office shall consider all the facts and circumstances of each case before making a determination.
