Authorizes the town of Huntington to transfer specific parklands to the Huntington African American Museum.
This bill authorizes the town of Huntington to discontinue the use of certain parklands and transfer them to the Huntington African American Museum. The transfer is contingent on the town dedicating an amount equal to or greater than the fair market value of the parklands towards acquiring new parklands or making capital improvements to existing parks and recreational facilities. If the town received federal funding for the parklands, the transfer cannot occur until the town complies with federal requirements for the alienation or conversion of parklands. The act takes effect immediately.
