This bill allows Ivan Cruz to be eligible to take the civil service exam for the position of police officer for the Broome county department of personnel. If he scores well enough on the exam, he will be eligible for placement on the eligible list for appointment as a full-time police officer. He will also be subject to the merit and fitness provisions of the civil service law applicable to full-time police officers. The act takes effect immediately.
