New York A11280 amends the general business law to prohibit local governments from enforcing laws, rules, regulations, or codes relating to fire safety, emergency egress, structural safety, accessibility, electrical safety, landmark preservation, or unsafe conditions on existing storefront security gates or grilles. This prohibition applies unless the enforcement is not based solely on the transparency, openness, visibility, or visual access percentage of the gate or grille.
