Removes conditional language for submitting requests for reconsideration of creditor determinations.
This bill amends the general business law by removing certain conditional language regarding requests for reconsideration of creditor determinations. Specifically, it allows debtors to request reconsideration within thirty days of receiving written notice from a creditor about recommencing collection activities. The creditor must review the request and any additional documentation submitted by the debtor within thirty days. The bill removes the condition that submitting a request for reconsideration is necessary to bring an action under section six hundred four-cc of the general business law.
