Adds licensed mental health counselors and licensed marriage and family therapists to health and social services practitioners.
This bill amends the public health law to include licensed mental health counselors and licensed marriage and family therapists among the health and social services practitioners. This inclusion applies to the health care proxy law, the family health care decisions act, and nonhospital orders not to resuscitate. These practitioners will now be able to consult on health care decisions, aligning with the principal's wishes or best interests.
