Requires cosmetology businesses to disclose service prices both verbally and through signage.
New York A11174 amends the general business law to mandate that appearance enhancement businesses and cosmetology licensees and trainees must disclose the price of cosmetology services both verbally and through signage. This includes providing a verbal description of the services before they are performed, at the time of booking, before the start of services, upon any change in services, and prior to payment. Additionally, businesses must post a list of current prices and factors that may increase the price at locations where services can be booked and payments are accepted.
