The bill allows the Freeport Bible Center to submit an application for a retroactive real property tax exemption for the 2026 assessment roll. If the Nassau County assessor approves the application, the village of Freeport board of trustees may correct the tax rolls. If the exemption is granted and the organization has already paid taxes, the governing body or tax department may refund those taxes and cancel any remaining unpaid taxes, fines, penalties, liens, or interest.
