Enacts the "veterinary care of retired law enforcement and fire service canines act" to provide reimbursement for certain veterinary costs to owners.

The bill establishes the "veterinary care of retired law enforcement and fire service canines act." It provides reimbursement for certain veterinary costs to owners of retired service canines that had served in law enforcement agencies and fire departments. Reimbursements are limited to usual and customary veterinary treatment, not exceeding $2,500 per year or $10,000 over the lifetime of the canine. The Division of State Police, in consultation with the Office of Fire Prevention and Control and the Division of the Budget, will administer the reimbursement program.
