This bill amends the domestic relations law to increase the marriage ceremony fee to fifty-five dollars and the marriage license fee to sixty dollars in the city of New York. The new fees will be paid by the contracting parties before or immediately upon the solemnization of the marriage and by the applicants before or at the time the license is issued. The fees collected will be paid over to the commissioner of finance of the city. The changes take effect immediately.
