Directs the Metropolitan Transportation Authority to create a fare program for City University of New York students.
The bill mandates the Metropolitan Transportation Authority to establish a fare program for City University of New York students. This program will provide a full fare reduction for five train and/or bus fares each weekday, equivalent to the standard pay-per-ride fare. The fare reductions will be applicable between 5:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. on weekdays. Any difference between the standard fare and the required fare for these services will be paid by the student. The act will take effect on the first of July following its enactment.
