Expands eligibility for a New York dental license to include completion of postdoctoral specialty programs and advanced education programs in general.

This bill amends the education law to expand how applicants may qualify for a license to be a dentist in New York. It allows applicants to meet the experience requirement by completing a postdoctoral general practice or specialty dental residency program or an advanced education program in general dentistry, each of at least one year's duration, or the first year of a multi-year postdoctoral specialty program. These programs must be in a hospital or dental facility accredited for teaching purposes by a national accrediting body approved by the department.
