New York A10720 amends the education law to require state university councils to include the institution's faculty and professional staff. The councils, which supervise the operations and affairs of state-operated institutions, will now consist of twelve members. Nine members are appointed by the governor, one is elected by students, one is a faculty member elected by the campus' faculty senate or faculty-professional staff senate, and one is a professional staff member elected by the campus' professional staff senate.
