Prohibits municipal officers or employees who are candidates for election from using municipal funds for mass mailings before an election.

The bill amends the general municipal law to prohibit municipal officers or employees who are candidates for nomination or election to any elective office from using municipal funds for certain mass mailings before an election. This includes both primary and general elections, as well as special elections. The prohibition applies to mass mailings that are postmarked or delivered less than ninety days prior to the election. The bill defines "mass mailing" as identical or nearly identical pieces of literature or other mass communication totaling more than one hundred items.
