Establishes the authority of the department of environmental conservation to manage Atlantic bonito and false albacore.
The bill amends the environmental conservation law to grant the department of environmental conservation authority to manage Atlantic bonito and false albacore. This includes setting regulations for size limits, catch and possession limits, open and closed seasons, closed areas, and other fishing restrictions. These regulations must be no less restrictive than existing requirements and consistent with federal fishery management plans. The act takes effect immediately.
