Allows New York State Troopers to purchase up to three years of service credit for prior police service outside New York with an accredited agency.

This bill amends the retirement and social security law to allow a member to obtain up to three years of service credit for prior paid police service within the United States with an accredited police agency outside of the state of New York. To be eligible, a member must have at least five years of credited service. The member must apply for this credit prior to the effective date of their retirement. The cost of this credit is estimated to be 32 percent of the member's annual salary for each year of additional service credited.
