New York Assembly Bill A09144 amends the civil practice law and rules to require all parties and the mediator to consent to any audio or video recording of mediation and court-annexed alternative dispute resolution proceedings. Any recording made without such consent is inadmissible in any judicial, administrative, or arbitral proceeding. Violations may be deemed contempt of court and subject to fines or other sanctions. The act takes effect 90 days after becoming law.
