Exempts persons holding the offices of public health director and director of community services of St. Lawrence county from the requirement that such person be a resident of the political subdivision or municipal corporation of the state for which such person shall be chosen or within which such person's official functions are required to be exercised.

Exempts St. Lawrence county public health director and community services director from residency requirement.

This bill amends the public officers law to exempt the public health director and director of community services of St. Lawrence county from the residency requirement. These officials can now be appointed even if they reside in a county adjoining St. Lawrence county, rather than within the county itself. This change applies only to St. Lawrence county.
