New York A08830 mandates the state to supply schools with opioid and fentanyl rescue kits.

New York A08830 amends the education law to require the state to provide at least one opioid and fentanyl overdose rescue kit to every elementary, secondary, trade, vocational, college, and university, whether public or private. These kits must contain at least two doses of naloxone nasal sprays and cardiopulmonary resuscitation equipment. The kits can be wirelessly connected, alert first responders when opened, and provide notifications before the expiration of included medications or supplies. Training for handling these kits is available but not mandatory for school staff.
