New York A07105 amends the public authorities law to provide benefits to Metro-North employees involved in or who witness a serious injury or fatality of another person in the course of an assigned duty. Benefits include seven consecutive working days of paid leave, mental health services, and a mandatory mental health examination before returning to work. Employees are compensated by Metro-North at an amount not less than what they would have earned on the assignment they would have worked until they have used their full mandated time off.
