New York Assembly Bill A06796 amends the energy law to prohibit the elimination of building systems or equipment used for the combustion of fossil fuels, including natural gas, propane, and fuel oil, in new building construction statewide. This prohibition does not apply to existing buildings, renovations, or replacement of existing systems. The act takes effect immediately.
