The bill amends various sections of the general municipal law, general city law, town law, and village law to expand training requirements for local municipalities in relation to compliance with the open meetings law. It mandates that each member of a county planning board, city planning board, town planning board, village planning board, and board of appeals complete a minimum of five hours of training each year. At least one hour of this training must be provided by the committee on open government or another appropriate entity.
