Prohibits termination of electricity or heat service during forecasts of extreme temperatures.

This bill amends the public service law to prohibit utilities and municipalities from terminating residential electricity, heat, or water service during forecasts of extreme temperatures. Specifically, service cannot be terminated when the forecast predicts temperatures of 85 degrees Fahrenheit or higher, or 32 degrees Fahrenheit or lower. Utilities must make a diligent effort to contact customers before and after such forecasts.
