The bill establishes a developmental disability, mental health, and behavioral condition community stakeholder committee. This committee will examine effective evidence-based screening methods for children in kindergarten through fifth grade. The committee will include members with expertise in identifying and diagnosing developmental, mental, and behavioral conditions, as well as parents of affected children. The committee will conduct public hearings and submit a report to the governor and legislative leaders. The act will take effect January 1, 2027, and expire August 1, 2028.
