New York A03987 amends the criminal procedure law to designate security officers for the village court of the village of Pleasantville as peace officers. These officers are granted specific powers, including those listed in paragraphs (b), (h), and (i) of subdivision one of section 2.20 of this article. However, they are not authorized to carry, possess, repair, or dispose of a firearm unless they have the appropriate license. If an officer is not already a police or peace officer, they must complete required training. The act takes effect immediately.
