This bill amends the social services law to allow shelters for victims of domestic violence to receive reimbursement for any payment differential when housing a single individual in a room intended for double occupancy, provided no single occupancy room is available. The reimbursement rate varies by fiscal year, starting at 50% for the fiscal year beginning April 1, 2027, increasing to 75% for the fiscal year beginning April 1, 2028, and reaching 100% for fiscal years commencing on or after the effective date of this amendment.
