The bill directs the division of housing and community renewal to conduct a study on the demographics of tenants living in rent-stabilized apartments in Nassau, Rockland, and Westchester Counties, and in the City of Kingston. The study will cover income, race, ethnicity, ages, gender, presence of children, and length of tenancy. Upon completion, the division must issue a report to the governor, legislative leaders, and relevant committee chairs.
