This bill establishes a missing persons unit within the division of state police, tasked with investigating missing persons reports. It also expands the responsibility of the missing and exploited children clearinghouse to include women. By January 1, 2027, the curriculum for law enforcement training must include topics on missing and exploited women and children of color and indigenous descent. Law enforcement departments are required to report cases of missing women, in addition to missing children and vulnerable adults.
