Authorizes the use of photo speed violation monitoring systems in highway construction or maintenance work areas on all highways in the state.

The bill amends the vehicle and traffic law to allow the commissioner of transportation to establish a demonstration program for photo speed violation monitoring systems. These systems can be installed in up to forty highway construction or maintenance work areas, excluding controlled-access highway exit ramps. The commissioner must consider speed data, crash history, and roadway geometry when selecting work areas. The systems will automatically produce images of vehicles violating speed limits.
