New York S08769 amends the executive law to provide confidentiality for communications arising out of law enforcement peer support counseling. Peer support communications, including oral or written communications made in peer support counseling, notes or reports arising from such counseling, and records of peer support counseling sessions, are protected. A peer support specialist or participant cannot disclose these communications to unauthorized individuals.
