New York S08569 amends the public health law and the mental hygiene law to require inpatient facilities to dispense at least two doses of opioid reversal drugs to patients at risk for a substance use disorder upon discharge. This applies to facilities operated or licensed by the office of alcoholism and substance abuse services or the office of mental health. The act takes effect 180 days after it becomes law.
