This bill provides a $250 World War II service bonus for certain veterans who served in the armed forces between December 7, 1941, and December 31, 1946, and were residents of New York state prior to their enlistment. The bonus is also available to the next of kin of qualifying members who died after their separation or discharge under honorable conditions. The Department of Veterans' Services is designated to receive, examine, and pay bonus claims.
