Extends the time when the state is liable for damages from defects in state highways to between April 1 and December 1.
New York S08017 amends the highway law to change the period during which the state is liable for damages caused by defects in state highways. Currently, the state is not liable for such damages except between May 1 and December 15. This bill extends the period of liability to between April 1 and December 1. The change will take effect on the first of April following the date the bill becomes law.
