This bill authorizes Kristin Proud, an employee of the New York state council on developmental disabilities and a member of the New York state and local employees' retirement system, to receive certain service credit for her volunteer service from March 25, 2020, to November 8, 2020. Proud volunteered to assist the commissioner of health as a member of New York's "surge healthcare force" during the COVID-19 pandemic. If Proud files a written request with the state comptroller within one year of the act's effective date, she will be granted full-time service credit.
