Authorizes Tompkins County to offer a 20-year retirement plan to Kyle Davenport, a deputy sheriff.
This bill authorizes the county of Tompkins to offer an optional 20-year retirement plan to Kyle Davenport, a deputy sheriff employed by the county. Davenport, who was previously covered under a 25-year plan, can elect to participate in the 20-year plan by filing a request with the state comptroller within 18 months of the act's effective date. Tompkins County may choose to assume the additional cost of this service within one year of the act's effective date. The county will bear all employer past service costs associated with this implementation, which may be amortized over five years.
