Establishes the crimes of spoofing a police agency telephone number in the first and second degrees as a class E felony and a class A misdemeanor.

The bill amends the penal law to establish the crimes of spoofing a police agency telephone number in the first and second degrees. Spoofing a police agency telephone number in the second degree, committed with intent to defraud, harass, annoy, threaten, or alarm another, is a class A misdemeanor. Spoofing a police agency telephone number in the first degree, committed by someone previously convicted within the last ten years of the second degree offense or the first degree offense, is a class E felony. The act takes effect 60 days after becoming law.
